Telescope Technology Limited operates Giftey and is responsible for the personal information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 12774445, at 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR, United Kingdom.

Giftey stores your account details and sign-in identifiers, the people and occasions you add, their relationships, optional photos, interests and exclusions, budgets, shopping countries, gift ideas, purchase status, reminder preferences, timezone, and device notification subscriptions. For membership, we store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, status and renewal details. Stripe collects payment information; our application does not receive full card numbers.

How we use it

We use this information to provide your account, suggest gifts, and send reminders you enable. Gift searches send relationship, interests, exclusions, budget, shopping country and occasion type to OpenAI and its web-search service. We omit the dedicated email, name, birthday and photo fields from AI input. Free text can still contain personal information and is sent as entered. Avoid entering sensitive information about yourself or other people.

Photos are resized on your device before the small image is saved with the profile. Birthday and relationship can be used on your device to suggest interest categories. We also use an approximate country supplied by our hosting provider from your connection to help order the country selector.

Authorised Giftey team members can view account email, sign-in and membership status, activity dates, reminder settings and usage counts to administer the service. The team dashboard does not display recipient names, photos or interests.

Our service providers

Vercel hosts the application. Supabase provides authentication and database storage. Google and Apple provide account sign-in. Stripe handles membership billing. OpenAI processes gift searches. Your browser’s push provider delivers notifications. Provider processing may occur outside the EU even when our database is hosted in Europe.

Gift images load directly from retailer or image-hosting websites, which receive your IP address and connection information. Clicking a gift link takes you to that retailer and its privacy practices. Some pages also load fonts or animation resources from Google and jsDelivr.

Your choices

Notifications require permission. You can pause reminders, disconnect a device, remove a person, export your information or permanently delete your account from Your space. The export contains your saved profiles, photos, gift ideas and preferences; it does not include every authentication, billing or operational record. Contact us for a broader access request. Account deletion removes saved profiles, device subscriptions and associated reminder jobs and ends membership. Billing, security and provider records may remain separately. Scheduled maintenance removes terminal delivery records older than 90 days and usage-limit records older than seven days when the reminder scheduler runs. Those are conditional cleanup rules, not deadlines for every provider record.

Device storage

Giftey uses browser storage for sign-in sessions and caches public application files for loading. Private profile responses are not cached by the service worker. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers.

Questions or requests

Contact support@getgiftey.com for access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions. Do not add someone’s personal details unless you have an appropriate reason to use them for gifting.

If someone added you

A friend or family member may have entered information about you for gift suggestions and reminders. You can contact us even without a Giftey account to ask about your information, request correction or deletion, or raise a concern. We may need proportionate details to identify the relevant record and verify a request without exposing another person’s information.
